you mean like the crusades and/or any religious / ethnic conflict
throughout history ....

pity it was such a pervasive historical concept from ancient times,
through "period", into the modern world.  something about the deep
"monkey-mind" has a low tolerance for "the other" / unknown /
different ... and we seek to drive them off / slaughter them for the
good of the "known" (hardwired species survival mode i suppose ...)
.. one of the major driving forces of our history down to the present
day
