Arabella,

It is true that their Royal Highnesses proclamation would appear, on the
face of it, to be in violation of Kingdom Law.  But I would also point out
that at this time they do not have the power to set the date for Crown, as
that power is resident in the hands of the Crown.  Since they will become
the Crown in just 2 weeks, they will then have the power to set the date
for Crown Tourney.  Also, by their very proclamation of that date, they will
change Kingdom law, at least for the duration of their reign as it pertains
to Crown Tourney and the date.
They can proclaim anything they wish... They will be King & Queen.....but it
says in Corpora that it doesn't take effect until it goes in to print
publication.  (See above g 2.)
So I am not sure what you are getting at
here.  This appears to me to be nothing more that a courtesy "heads up"
from Their Highnesses so people can plan ahead and I for one appreciate it.

If TRH's wants to change the dates... so be it... however it creates many
difficulties in the Kingdom Calendar and the available dates for the local
groups to have events.  Not to mention it won't be a law until it appears in
black and white in the September issue of the Black Star.  Who benefits from
this?
Why should TRH's want to change something that isn't broken?  I was under
the impression that Crown Tourney was moved to October for a reason.  I
wasn't a Kingdom player at the time.  What were the reasons it was moved to
October?
I know of the reason to move Spring Crown Tourney to March...before Gulf War
... so that who ever is TRM at the time would have another couple to assist
and attend the many meetings they are required to attend at Gulf War and to
share the responsibilities.  Yes the Spring/Pennsic Crown has a longer reign
but they have fewer responsibilities at Pennsic.   They have an extra month
to prepare for their reign also if the Crown Tourney is in March.
If Fall Crown Tourney changed into Kingdom Law, to November, the Fall/Gulf
War Royals will only have 2 months to prepare for their Coronation instead
of 3.  Who benefits from this?
