[Ansteorra] 3$ surcharge

I understand the problems that family's have with going to events and its
costs.  I myself have a family of five.  We have had one of the adults made
a sustaining member and the remainder of us are family members.  We have
done this for several reasons. One I hate filling out those minor waiver
forms, but more importantly it supports our "dream".  The $10.00 membership
fee is paid for in 4 events.  Should it go up to $15.00 it will still be
paid for in 5 events. Now with the surcharge, you can either pay the $3.00
per event per person or you can have a membership for the year and the
knowledge that you are supporting the society. Either way you are basically
going to have to pay it.

Unfortunately for today's society, there are many risks to the game we play
and it requires things such as insurance and a corporate structure to
protect us.  For example, you are in a tournament with a fighter, he/she
gets hurt and sues you or the local group to pay for the medical bills, Well
that is why we have insurance to protect the populace.  However insurance
costs money.  I don't think anyone should be forced to be a member (this is
still a free society), However, if you want to join in our activities, the
society needs to be protected and therefore you should have to help bear the
costs. So a non-member surcharge is a good thing, especially for those who
only attend a few events a year and the membership fees are prohibitive.  I
do believe in family caps and think they should be instituted at every
event.  The SCA has changed over the years and has become much more family
friendly as most of us who started as teenagers now have children that play
etc. I know I have been lengthy and hope I did not offend anyone
