There's a program called Ad-aware, which does a good job of removing pop-ads and
other annoyances.  You might want to try it.  You can find it @

Okay... so how do I get rid of the sparkly new evilware program now that
I've read the thread of doom and woe?  The program provides no convenient
"uninstall and banish to the pit" button and I'm worried that the black
helicopters are going to land on my lawn before dawn.  I don't have to burn
my computer on the lawn with gasoline, do I?
