Well,  some of those who worked troll can correct me but I would imagine that each troll attendant had a bunch of medallions.  If you were the first through the door and went to the farthest seat over to sign in you might have gotten medallion 600 and the second person may have gone to the closest seat and gotten medallion 3800.  It's all about how they broke up the pile of medallions.  Also there were probably the first two thousand or so medallions in the pre-registration packets.  A person who got there Monday without a reservation could be medallion 3000 and a person showing up Thursday with a Reservation got Medallion 100.  I know of one person that sent their preregistration the day before it opened so it would arrive the day reservations officially opened.  They had a medallion in the 30s.  They were kicking themselves with the realization they had a low enough number they could have gotten a cabin. <G>
