Hey, here's a theory: Maybe the people that stole the beer were the
mundanely dressed people that were in attendance at the event. Who brought
those people, anyway?

There are still rules to be observed.  The SCA is not theatre.  It is not a
display.  It is participatory, even if said participation is simply not
detracting from the proceedings by standing around in jeans and a t-shirt.

Even we have minimum standards.
