[Ansteorra] Do We Have to Do This?

Why is it that 90% of what i read on the list is someone making sure that all
of the I's are crossed and all of the T's are dotted?  And yes I said it that
way on purpose, just to give someone a reason to yell.  People seem to be so
wrapped in things that they are willing to ignore the spirit of a post so that
they may analyze each word of the post.  I'm not pointing fingers, they
probably know who they are.  Expressing one's feelings is one thing, but using
this list as a place to fight battles, well that's something else.  And before
you say it, just read some of the garbage that came through on the post in
question, which, mind you, was my first taste of the Ansteorran mailing list. The
big question is, is this what we want someone's first experience on this list
to be?  Thank god i have been playing for 7 years and not 2 months, I have
come to expect pomp and self importance in some people.  Not that it makes it
right.  I am now being the culprit of which I yell in this missive.  Let's all
have the good grace to take our rude or negative responses private.  It
doesn't take much to change an address, usually a few clicks of a mouse
button.  It will save us all alot of heartache and free up the list for really
important discussions, such as who is bringing how much mead to Steppes
Warlord.

And yes i fully expect retorts toward the negative side, and people "asking"
whether or not i think that some things are important, and others aren't.  All
i can say to you is Use your best judgement, and remember that at anytime
someone who has been playing a week may get on this list.
