Go to www.armytents.com They have GP med. liners for 225.00. (plus shipping)
You can make the poles out of fence post am 1"x2"s. I have got good quality
stuff from them. (Actually, the surplus GP small with liner I bought was in
better shape than any tent I ever used in the army or the National Guard.

I'm not sure if this is limited to period mustard sauces
or not. But considering the purpose of our organisation, I
think having a lot of period mustards in this competition
would be a GOOD THING.

To help those who have no idea where they would find some
period recipes for mustards, there are these files in the
Florilegium:
Mustard-art (5K) 9/14/00 "Mustard" by Ld. Daniel le Vascon du
Navarre
http://www.florilegium.org/files/FOOD-CONDIMENTS/Mustard-art.html
mustard-msg (88K) 9/30/01 Mustard seed in period. sauces. recipes.
http://www.florilegium.org/files/FOOD-CONDIMENTS/mustard-msg.html

Remember that mustards often need some time to age a bit, to
take some of the "edge" off. So, don't wait until the week
before the event to make your mustard.

I've been promising myself to make some period mustards for
quite some time. This is a nice incentive. Its just too bad
it is on the opposite end of the kingdom.

I don't go in and start teardown, BUT I have been to too many events where =
the locals all evaporate when it's time for cleanup. They claim to have wo=
rked all day and are too tired to help, so sometimes the only people doing =
clean-up are the autocrats, and maybe the head cook. That is COMPLETELY UN=
FAIR. But it happens often and it happens in every Kingdom (at least, it h=
as in most of the ones where I have lived or visited). So I am often on th=
e cleanup crew, even when it's not my group - or my own Kingdom.

Other groups assign people to arrival times and jobs so that you don't have=
someone there from 8:00am to 2:00am working. Some people might arrive at =
noon, or later, so that they are fresher for the cleanup stages into the ni=
ght. This makes quite a bit of sense.

There is a problem when cleanup is the day after the event, or on the Sunda=
y of a weekend event, because people simply disappear and do not return, or=
leave the site early. On another list we are discussing codes of conduct,=
and I think a basic tenet would be living up to your promises. If you say=
you are helping with cleanup, you show up and help. Yes, sometimes a car =
breaks down or someone gets sick, but waking up tired or deciding to run al=
l your errands first thereby arriving four hours late are NOT acceptable ex=
cuses. Trust me, the autocrats and cooks are tired too!

Contrary to behaving as if I am a guest to be catered to, I will often offe=
r to help with cleanup. You don't have to make a production of it, but I h=
ave been around too many events, in too many kingdoms, for too many years, =
to EVER assume that there are enough people doing cleanup (and this goes fo=
r washing dishes after the feast, too).

	Greetings Ansteorra,

In an attempt to better represent you, the good people of Ansteorra,
at Gulf War, I will be holding a meeting at Steppes Warlord to garner
feedback regarding our war with Trimaris. In order to do my job better, I
need to know what has worked and what hasn't at the war. I need to know what
you like and dislike about the war. Do you have gripes about camping? I need
to hear it. Do you have praise for the classes were run? I need to hear it.
Do you have suggestions about how to possible improve things? I *especially*
need to hear those!

This meeting will be held Sunday afternoon at Steppes Warlord
following the champions tournament, and before court at the Pelicans'
Tavern. Heralds will announce a more specific time the day of the meeting.

So please, help me make the war a better experience for you and
attend this meeting. We may not be able to change everything, but we can
try!

	Many thanks,
	Pendaran,
	Ansteorran Liaison for GWXII

I tried to order all of them at one time, but paypal would not let me, when
I
put in the price it said I had it wrong, then I saw that the qty at the top
could not be changed from one. Apparently the number you want has to match
the price, Can you make that a fill in as well as the price.

Thanks

Guy

My favorite thing to do is to show up and help and dissapear. Now I will say
that with children I don't do it as much due to the fact that I have to be
mom. But I am not beyond getting them to help and working. But then I am
from
the generation that everyone worked the event and had to be willing to help
at a moments notice. But my joy is in helping because it needs to be done.
Now think what it would be like if eveyone decided they were the Guest.
