According to my in-house Elizabethan specialist, Llywelyn, the English did
celebrate Ascension day for Queen Elizabeth - November 17th. He doesn't
recall that her birthday was widely celebrated, though.

Subject: [Ansteorra] Birthday question

Within the time period of the SCA, what are some documented celebrations of
birthdays for individuals in history and what was it called?

Elizabethan for example, what did they call the celebration of someone's
birth or did they even celebrate it?

Sincerely,
Chiara
