I'm pretty sure there isn't -A- single Ansteorran culture.

However, you might consider, among the other excellent movies suggested,
Lone Star (1996, Chris Cooper, Kris Kristofferson, Matthew McConaughey).  On
a symbolic level the movie contains a number of interesting parallels
between the characters and the evolution of the SCA in this region - nothing
damning, just interesting.  (A lot of the culture around here does seem to
be based on the "lone cowboy"/hero mythology, and a lot of the political and
cutural friction comes from having to deal with it in a modern context - and
the fact that it has no real place in the historical Middle Ages).
