It is within the perogative of Their Royal Majesties to bestow upon any of their subjects an addition to their Arms in recognition of great deeds or service.  TRM Miguel & Conal bestowed such upon Their Graces Patrick-Micheal & Julia.

Their Majesties cannot specify the form, as it must be approved by the College of Arms.  This is given very rarely within our Kingdom, and the augmentation usually involves a Blackstar, representing the Kingdom which has been served.

Some other bearers of augmentations include :
* Jonathan Delaufyson (First King of Ansteorra)
* Willow de Wisp (First Queen of Ansteorra)
* Galen of Bristol
* Tivar Moondragon

As an example of what an augmentation might look like, I will use Galen of Bristol as I am most familiar with his.  Prior to recieving the augmentation Galen bore the arms "Gules, a bend wavy between two double bitted axes Or"  which is to say a red field, with a wavy diagonal gold band from upper left to lower right (as you look at the shield) and in the upper right and lower left corners there was an double-bitted axe.  When TRM Daffydd & Octavia bestowed upon Galen an augmentation, he approached the heralds, discussed a design, and the final form was to place a blackstar upon the wavy gold band in the center of the device.
