Frankly, I would find the banner MUCH more intrusive than the talkers.

And a whole series of banners is something like a cross between a Ren Faire
parade and Burma-Shave.

Speaking as a short person, I really don't like things to be visually
between me and the dais, as I have enough trouble seeing as it is.

If you are going to do written reminder things, why not little business
cards with some message on them?  You can pass those along rows and they are
much less obtrusive.
