Hi, y'all. Been seeing the reports of rain at Gulf Wars. We did have it,
but if you think that's all you missed by staying home, well you missed a
lot of fun as well! But you already knew that - right? <G>

Arriving Thursday noonish, I wasn't there for the rain on Wednesday, but
yes, there was quite a lot on Thursday afternoon. Pretty much everything
cancelled while people buttoned down and waited it out. No wind to speak
of, not that I noticed (not like in Ansteorra!), some lightning. I was on
the road to Toontown when a tree was hit and "exploded," which was pretty
cool to see. People came out immediately after to scavenge pieces.

The rains were pretty much gone by late suppertime, and the parties
occurred as usual. The wetness made the fire-twirlers and -breathers a bit
wilder than they could be otherwise. We were relieved to have had no
injuries to speak of from the combination of muddy streets and staggering
drunks. On following days, we had heavy fog and dew, which on Saturday
morning sounded like rain, but no real rain, and Saturday was clear and
sunny, Sunday became so by about mid-morning.

Any report on the A&S or Volunteer points? I know I recorded a LOT of
Trimarian points from Horsey Land, even though I know there were many
Ansteorrans there. One told me (when I delivered her raffle tickets) that
the Ansteorrans simply thought they were there to have fun, not to rack up
points, which is why they didn't complete the sheets.
