For Chivalric Tourneys I always favor fighters choice no restrictions (the
more rounds the better). Let each pair decide what they want to fight
with. This way people who are new or fighting under restrictions, will not
feel left out or forced to fight a style that they are not ready for. I
have always felt that a Champions tourney should be to find out who is the
best fighter on a given day and to do that you must allow each fighter to
bring their best style to the field. Special theme tourneys like a Pas de
Arms or Oriental weapons only tourney are fine and a lot of fun, but don't
make them your champions tourney.
