This tidbit of news info has made the rounds so thoroughly that the
women on a scrapbooking website message board I visit are yakking
about it.  

Hope somebody is prepared to do damage control.  The first I heard of
it was getting an e-mail from one of the board busybodies saying
"Didn't you once say that _you_ were involved with this group?" 
There were some sweeping generalizations and accusations on the
webboard that kind of bothered me.  A couple people came to the SCA's
defense, but honestly I was completely blindsided by it and just
stayed away because the topic looks as if it has the potential to get
very very ugly and I just don't want to be sucked into it.  

I mean, they've already made up their minds.  What could I possibly
say?

the story (way it's presented, it's *in* the story) is a direct link
to the main SCA dite (www.sca.org) .. NOT a positive association.
