I'm afraid I don't wear these, nor have I personally tried to make one.
However, you might find some of the comments and resources, including
sources for different types of boning, in this file in the CLOTHING
section of the Florilegium to be of interest:
corsets-msg (62K) 1/11/00 Tudor and Elizabethian corsets.
making them.
http://www.florilegium.org/files/CLOTHING/corsets-msg.html

For a similar subject, but of use to both sexes, there is also this
file:
underwear-msg (80K) 1/25/03 What to wear under garb. SCA and
period.
http://www.florilegium.org/files/CLOTHING/underwear-msg.html

I really don't consider this subject off topic for this list since this
is about the clothing worn during the time period we study. And for
those who aren't aware of it, there is a big difference between the
comfort of the Victorian corsets and the Elizabethan ones. The
Elizabethan ones don't try to rearrange the lady's body into unnatural
positions and curves the way the Victorian ones did.
