[Ansteorra] A question for Ansteorran artisans

I like this idea, my concern about one overall artist, is the wide
variety of arts we do. When I was showing dogs, I got to feel that there
were very few people that could judge all breeds of dogs, thus I don't
think most shows need a Best in Show. The same is true, and more so in
A&S. There are areas where there are a lot of people who have a lot of
knowledge, a couple that jump to mind are, late period costuming and
C&I. They can be judged fairly most of the time. There are other areas
that are not as well known, take pottery. We do have a few pottery
Laurels and other experts, but have their own specialties (time periods
and eras). Even if they are at an event, and that's all of them, it is
no guarantee that they have expertise in a particular area, take Islam
pottery, for example. And then there is the problem of comparing one
against each other. When an area is uncommon, it will either get ignored
or excite people with its newness, either way, it doesn't get the same
judging as another category. I haven't decided on how to choose these
artists, maybe the Laurels could advise the Crown when they are very
impressed with someone's work or the Crown could do the same.
Responsibilities:; teaching, helping others improve their work, maybe
coordinating an art project for the Crown. New regalia, largess ect.,
