A bit of Ansteorran history:
Some many years ago, there was a feast served in the Shire of Emerald Keep, and Rowan was either
Queen or had just won the right to the Crown by her own hand. There was much mischief and fun had
at this feast; and as Ansteorrans are a jovial bunch, food was being catapulted librally about the
hall. A young squire, by the name of Abd al-Mahdi Jamal ibn Hakin (soon to be Baron of the
Steppes) was serving the feast in the indoor hall, and took a nasty fall on the floor due to the
food upon it, suffering a resulting injury.

Rowan then declared that she would rather have her squires fit for battle; so from that day
henceforth, no food was to be catapulted within INDOOR halls in the Kingdom of Ansteorra. Outdoor
feasts were fair game. Rowan was herself one of the worst offenders of catapulting food from the
head table, so probably felt justified in declaring this edict.

Thus, a tradition was born in Ansteorra that 'food fights' are restricted to outdoor feast.
Perhaps, it is time to remember that tradition.

Cheers, Hillary
