I don't know who wrote either of these, but

The "Answer" to the burden of the crown and
Sly Loki or whatever it is really called.

If there was an Album/CD of "Ansteorra's Greatest Hits"

What would you put on it and who would they be sung by?

My first 2 choices would be

Ebon Star sung by Duchess Siglinde
and Karela's Song sung by Master Iolo

Lorraine DeerSlayer

Sly Loki is by Master Mikal Hrafspa (the Ram) from Calontir.

I thought she meant *sung by* Mahdi, but I can see how it could be read the
other way too. Always good to be sure credit goes where credit is due.

Sorry, but I must make a correction: "Born on the List Field" was written by
Master Ivar Battleskald, the second Lion of Ansteorra. Ivar wrote the song
after attending a belted circle in Calontir in which someone more or less
said that Ivar, being a Master of Arms, couldn't know anything about fealty.
Ivar left the circle and wrote "Born on the List Field" to prove that he did
indeed understand the oath of fealty.

The song that is traditionally sung to our Queen at her Champion's tourney
(I can't remember its actual title), sung by HL Eleanor or in a duet by
Eleanor and Don Shea. I believe they wrote the song together.

Sly Loki is called simply Loki's Song and it was written by Master Mikel the
Ram from Calontir. I actually would prefer to hear it performed by Thorvald
Egillsson from Northkeep.

You said " Some of us who knew him could probably post the occasional story
*about*
Ragnar if that's what folks are looking for. :)"

PLEEAAAASSE! That would be awesome!

Also, thanks for the link! I have heard so much about this man. I look
forward to reading the stories.

I't can't happen, but I want to hear "Take me when I die to Camp Burnett" by

William Blackfox. I reeally wish someone had the words for that.

I'm going to mangle the spelling onm this. "Castle Sheberry" by Catrin
Ferch
Gwillym. "Unwanted Crown" By Ulf. "Lady of Sorrows" by Bella O'Rourke.
"Warrior's Weird" sung by Pepin.

Kate,
Come to Southern Steppes tonight and I will tell the tales I have and show
the pictures I have of this wonderful bard and man. If you could ever hear
Sven tell the stories you would understand. He comes the tells in the old
form and way as Ragnar did years gone by.
