Come all ye bards and troubadours, minnesingers and skalds, minstrels and
poets, storytellers and players. to the shining Barony of Loch Soilleir for
the chance to compete to become the next Titled Bard of the Loch. The
beauteous and graceful Baroness Katya and the redoubtable Baron William hold
the arts of the performer in great esteem and treat their Bard with the
utmost honor and courtesy.

(And generosity! By all the gods, they veritably open their own table for
their Bard to eat and drink his or her fill at every event they attend. Most
gracious indeed and just what a hungry and thirsty bard needs to get him
through the night! I confess I'm loathe to give up the title, but perhaps
I've outstayed my welcome a tad bit, what with the constant raids on the
kitchens and ale casks and all. Tis a truly sad fare well on my part, but a
boon to my successor.)

The tournament to choose the next Bard of the Loch will be held on the 15th
day of May, in the Year of Our Lord 2004, during Loch Guardian, starting at
noon and running until the end of the fighting (or thereabouts).

Choose your two best pieces of different genres (a story and a song, for
example) to perform for the Gallery. Documentation always adds pleasure for
the scholars among us, but is not required. A Letter of Intent, on the other
hand, should be addressed to Their Excellencies so that they might know you
by your own hand rather than by reputation.
