Recently I've been participating in discussions with other Laurels
about whether or not Ansteorra should have a titled Kingdom
Artisan, along the same lines as we now have a Kingdom Bard.
Obviously, what *we* think about this doesn't matter nearly as much
as what the artisan community as a whole, and the kingdom at large,
thinks on this issue, so I thought I'd solicit some feedback...
(1) Do you think Ansteorra should have a titled Kingdom Artisan?
Why or why not?
*** Yes, because we need opportunities for our artisans to "test their mettle" against the rest of the artisans in our kingdom under our "rules"
(2) If a titled Kingdom Artisan were to be selected, how should
this person be chosen? Competition? What kind of competition? How
judged? Royal appointment? Other? etc.
***Competition - using our kingdom forms - similar to how the GW trials are done
(3) What, if any, should be the duties and responsibilities of a
titled Kingdom Artisan, if such were to be selected?
*** That's a good one...I'll have to think about that one...
*** In another vein - I do think we do need some kind of recognition of people who are extra ordinary craftsmen but are not necessarily into what it takes to become a peer...I've been thinking about it for a long while...but haven't yet come up with a way for it to manifest without being viewed in a negative way (but then again people will view things as they will)...Maybe each Crown could give a "Crown's Mark" with no rank just have it recorded in the OP
