To the Stellar Kingdom of Ansteorra does Gerita del Mare send greetings.

During the weekend of May 27 - 30, at Canton's First Monday Trade Days a
new War Lord for the Barony of The Steppes will be chosen by right of
battle.  Are YOU ready?  

Also to be chosen at this event are The Steppes' Rapier Champion,
Archery Champion, and Equestrian Champion. 
The Hope of The Steppes shall reside in winners of Boffer and Youth
Rapier tournaments. 
If this isn't enough competition for you, the annual On Site Embroidery
Contest will take place from noon Saturday to noon Sunday.  
The Bard of The Steppes shall be chosen, a difficult choice among truly
awesome chanteuses and tale-spinners. 
There will also be an A&S Competition, hosted by our own Steppes
Artisan, and themed "Period Processes".  

Don't want to compete?  
OK, The Library will be housed in the Hall, with lots of books, some of
them rare and hard to find, available for on-site study.  
The Scribes will host a Charter-Painting area.  
Heralds will be available for consultation. Let's get those names and
devices registered!  Really, it's not difficult.  
Merchants will abound as well, bringing wares to make eyes sparkle and
hearts yearn! 
AND <drum roll, please> THE LONGBOAT COMPANY is back! They'll make
omelets to order with your choice of stuffing. They may throw in some
juice or rolls.  It costs only $5.00, and certainly saves wear and tear
on the camp cook!

And our canton of Lindenwood is sponsoring a raffle!  Feel lucky?
