WELCOME TO THE CAST PARTY

Come join the fun at Smythkepe’s first Cast Party! A social event to be held in the chapel on Sunday night after the evening meal at A Midsummer Knight’s Dream. You will have the opportunity to play games of chance and use your winnings to bid on GREAT PRIZES! This years featured games will be Gluckhaus and Wheel of Fortune.

The Cast Party is a "LOOT" event where you must donate an item of some value to enter. In exchange for the donation you will receive valuable tokens to be used as "coins" to play the games. An auction will be held at the end of the Cast Party where you can bid on the donated items with your "coins". (Like other "LOOT" tournaments, please be sure that your donated item is something that others would consider desirable. Examples include, but are certainly not limited to Duct Tape, Rattan, Fabric, Trim, Tankards, armor/weapons, etc. CAST PARTY begins after dinner, Sunday evening.

WHEEL OF FORTUNE!!!

Place your bet on a color and spin the Wheel of Fortune!

If the wheel stops on the color you have chosen, the house DOUBLES the coins you bet!

If it lands on any other color you lose your coins to the house. A simple game that ANYONE can play!

GLUCKHAUS

Also called "The Lucky Pig" or "House of Fortune"

This game is played on a board with eleven marked squares. Players take turns rolling a pair of dice. On a roll of a 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 11 the player takes a coin if one is on the corresponding square. If there is not already a coin on the square the player MUST place one there. In either case the players turn is over and the dice are passed to the next player on the left.

Roll a 7, THE WEDDING, the player ALWAYS places a coin on the square (because one always brings a gift to a wedding).

Roll a 2, THE LUCKY PIG, the player collects ALL of the coins from the table EXCEPT for the WEDDING and the HOUSE (4).

Roll a 12, THE KING, the player collects ALL of the coins on the board, including the WEDDING (7) (but not the HOUSE (4)), because nothing can be denied THE KING.

Roll a 4, THE HOUSE, place a coin on the 4 for the person running the table. Collect nothing and pass the dice to the person on your left. Exception: See "A TWIST!"

A TWIST!

For the Cast Party I have decided to make the 4 vulnerable! One special token will be present at the festivities and will change hands many times. The person possessing this token will place it on the table (after buying into the game by placing a token on "THE WEDDING") and play as normal. (Note: Do NOT place the Special Token on a number slot) IF that person rolls a 4 while the Special Token is in their possession they may take the money from THE HOUSE (4) and replace it with the Special Token. The person running the table will then place the Special Token on a numbered space of his choice. Game play continues as normal from that point until someone can claim the Special Token and put it in play again. The Special Token does not have to stay at one table, however, it must only be used at the GLUCKHAUS tables.

At the end of the night the persons running the tables will split the house share evenly and enjoy the auction with the rest of us!!! The people running the games will also make a LOOT contribution to enter the games.
