That sounds far enough back. I have seen the impressions from a bronze age two part mold that goes way back but the ship wreck was not written up. The artifacts are in Turkey some where.

  The first mention of casting molds that I have (other than the evidence of pouring
  the metal into the dirt) is single and multipart clay molds from the coper age
  (aprox.3200BC)

  Anyone got anything older?
