SCA-wide scribal lists. Both have a number of members
who have researched medieval scribal tools and
techniques and are pretty knowledgeable about a wide
range of scribal topics.

Try Daniel V. Thompson's "Materials and Techniques and
Medieval Painting." It's readily available on Amazon,
and it's very inexpensive.
