[Ansteorra] This weekend

For those in "Southern" Ansteorra that can't make it to Crown and still
would like a tourney fix, the Barony of Bjornsborg is doing a demo at the
Tejeda Middle School's History Fair & Culture Fest.  There will be a
mini-tournament, and A&S display (prizes sponsored by Tejeda MS).  All
SCA'ers are invited and encouraged to attend. The demo forms part of a
'timeline' event which has re-enactors and performers from many time periods
and cultures. Some scheduled to attend: Native Americans, Buffalo Soldiers,
WWI, WWII, Cowboys, Alamo, Romans, Vikings, and of course SCA, among others.
Dance and performance groups include Lion Dancers, Irish, Mexican, etc.
There will also be hands-on activities and food and drink will be for sale
by school groups.

Here is the info and directions provided by Debora:

 

Directions, from SA, take Hwy 281 N. outside of Loop 1604 to Evans Rd. (2nd
light, at an HEB shopping center). Turn right on Evans Rd and go past the
stop sign. Watch for school on the left and take first entrance, to the back
of the school. SCA is under/near big oak tree in middle of 'Hill'. The
address for Tejeda Middle School is 2909 East Evans Road, San Antonio, TX
78259. 

NB You might see a banner at the 1st set of lights at Encino Rio. You can
take that if you wish, it will take you past the Encino Park Herb and Garden
Show. In which case follow road through 2 stop signs until you get to the
intersection with Evans. Turn right on Evans then almost immediately left
into school. (You will pass an elementary school on Encino Rio so don't get
confused  ;-)

Also you can take Bulverde up from 1604 to lights at Evans. Turn left. Go
through 1 stop sign, school will be on right, take 2nd entrance into school.

Gates open for set up at 7am, (I know Thorgard & I will be there then).  All
set up must be completed by 9:45 (when 'Hill' is closed to vehicular
traffic). After that time you could still set up but, you would have to
hand-carry everything. History Faire opens to the Public at 10am. It closes
at 4pm.

Armor inspection is due to start at 9:30am.

Coffee and pastries are meant to be available in the Teacher's Lounge in the
morning. Teacher's Lounge can be used for restrooms, dressing etc.
