[Ansteorra] Principality, Gas, and a subject change...

I took my 2-year old (at the time) nephew to an event, and camped with him. One thing that allowed me to be able to be part of the adult night life, while also being a responsible auntie was having one of those air matress/sleeping bags. During the day when he crashed down for an unexpected nap, moving that out of the tent and placing it under a pavillion, out of the sun, allowed me to be near the list field, and keep an eye on him. Then later that night during the "adult gatherings", I moved it out of the way, still though close enough to see him, and let him sleep there until I took him to bed with me.

The reason this worked is because that boy could sleep through anything.

I hope this helps.

Principality, schmincipality. My friends are all over the kingdom, a
Principality will not make me less inclined to go to them or to encourage
them to head my way for an event.

Gas prices and 2 babies have tempered how many events my family attends.
We make them count because we want to see as many of our friends as we can.
Bang for the buck if you will. We try to hit the stuff we can daytrip, and
Gulf/Steppes/Gothic are camping, and whatever else we pick we hotel it if
it's too far to daytrip. Do what you can, as you can, with what you have.

Speaking of 2 babies (and the promised subject change)...

Two kids under the age of 2 makes eventing.. tricky for me and Liam. So,
keeping in mind I can NOT be the first woman to bring smalls to an event, I
seek the wisdom of those who have pulled this off (eventing with babies).
They're too small for children's activities, our closest family is in
Biloxi, and it's not like we can leave them at home like cats where they
get a big bowl of food and a warning about keggers. Hints, tips, tricks?
