One of my reasons for coming up with an east-west war in the first place is 
because there has been a fair bit of talk over the years about how awful 
the folks in "the north" or "the south" are--how they never travel, try to 
hoard all the kingdom offices in that area, hog all the kingdom-level 
events, etc. (Oddly enough, there seems to be no clear definition of where 
"the north" starts--it seems to be about fifty miles north of where the 
speaker lives, whether that's Bryn Gwlad or Namron. The same is true for 
"the south.") So I figured having a completely arbitrary dividing line as 
the basis for a war would be a lot more fun, and it would give us a 
different set of "us vs them" to play with.
