[Ansteorra] PENNSIC NEWS BLACKOUT

At most large scale festivals, music, cultural, etc
and at any large athletic activity, there is usually
an EMS presence. Sometimes it's required by local or
state law, sometimes it is just the choice of the
event management or property owners from a liability
stand point.

In all honesty, I was surprised NOT to see EMS at Gulf
Wars when I first started attending. Something on
that scale, let alone something on Pennsic's scale
needs to have the presence of trained medical
professional that can do far more to treat a serious
injury or save a life on site. I take comfort in the
fact that my friends at Pennsic have EMS on location
to get them to a hospital in that serious of an
emergency arises.

Now for standard first aid, I see no reason to not
have a first aid station manned by the SCA for bumps,
bruises, stings, etc. It seems like overkill to go to
EMS for a band-aid.

Respectfully,

Lady Emeline Neville
