I fight Rapier because while I like to fight I don't really care to be
beaten silly. I do, however want to participate in Chivalric wars. The best
way I see to do that is as a seige engineer or as an archer. I've yet to do
this though.

I think the best way to entice new archers is to create some sort of
kingdom-wide organization of archers, but I would make it more militaristic
than like a guild. I would certainly join the Ansteorran Archery Corps.
