Well, here’s a shot in the dark, but I took it as a
comparison to Godwin’s Law of Usenet protocol.

Mike Godwin 
concerning Usenet "discussions".  It reads, according
to the Jargon File:

As a Usenet discussion grows longer, the probability
of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches

In other words, the longer any single Ansteorra List
discussion goes on, the more likely it is someone will
bring up the most volatile topic imaginable (i.e.
principalities).
