[Ansteorra] In defense of courtesy

I would tentatively advance the notion that a fair amount of the SCA
concepts of respectful conduct and courtesy to others derives in some
significant part from that great repository of Victorian ideals, the
Scouting movement.

At least for myself, the SCA is in many ways my personal extension of a
lifetime in Scouts -- Cub, Eagle BSA '76, APO, adult leader across four
branches of the program [Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Explorer
Scouts], instructor [add GSA], etc.

Being prepared just takes on a whole new dimension when applied to a
life in the SCA...
