Just on a "Mundane" side note

In just about every Eastern Orthodox Church (the
Christian Orthodox, not the
Jewish Orthodox) that has pulled itself above the
status of mission church,
there is a "throne" for the Archbishop (and/or a
special carpet)when he is
in attendance. There are also special/extended
responses in the liturgy.

Somewhere which currently escapes me I have also heard
of chairs being
referred to as "seat" as in the seat of government - I
suppose - and then
there is always the example of the "Chairs" at Oxford
University Colleges...
