Personal plug here, my mother is one of this year's winners in the whole cloth catagory.  To make this a bit on topic, she is starting to research early quilting and last year made a gorgeous whole cloth forepart that I have yet to make a gown to go with.

Quilters, Seamstresses, Beaders, and more - 
Check out the International Quilt festival coming up the first weekend in November in Houston
(Nov. 1-5th). Guys, this is one not to miss if you do any kind of sewing or beading.  

While the focus is predominately Quilts, there are sales expositions where all the sewing machine
manufacturers, beading suppliers, and sewing accessories, and many new products - are on display
and sold.  There are also a ton of classes (see online).

I've actually purchased supplies for calligraphy at this show.
