My car was recovered after being missing for two weeks, and amazingly 
was still mostly in one piece. Even more amazingly, my bag of fencing 
gear was still in the trunk. There is something to be said for having a 
ratty old canvas bag I guess as a theft deterrent. =)

There is also something to be said for the wonderful people in the SCA, 
who spread the word quickly around the globe to different mailing lists 
and websites. Indeed the human element is the greatest treasure in the 
SCA, where strangers become friends in times of adversity. My most 
sincere thanks to everyone who sent me pictures that had my gear and 
doublet in them, forwarded my message to others, found similar items for 
sale and forwarded me that info, or offered to assist in other ways. You 
have shown once again the strength of the kinship within the SCA.
