Sleep pants... They come in a large array of sizes, are comfortable, legs are generally pipe with no elastic in the bottom, tops come drawstring and or elastic, come in solids and some stripes as well as checks and plaids, in various weights of cotton or flannel. and you can generally pick up a pack when you're in Wall-mart during a pants emergency, and can be fought in and are relatively inexpensive... :-}
  These can be tweaked as needed, and can blend into a costume ...'Stacia
