[Ansteorra] Telling someone that what they are doing is not period

Any time I bring a newcomer into the SCA, I consider them my 'little
project' as it were. I guide them in the right direction to find a name,
persona, etc... I make their first piece of garb, then I tell them I'll
teach them how to sew. I drag them to their first camping event, loan them a
tent, feast gear, etc, and give them advice on how/where to get their own. I
introduce them to people - when their little wings are ready, I push them
out of the nest and they find a happy home in the SCA.

My newest newcomer decided she wanted to be an Italian gypsy - she chose a
wonderfuld italian name, documentable and all, and knows what she wants on
her device (only 1 change needed, which she's working on) - however after
her first event, Valor in Calontir, I was able to gently guide her into
considering another fascet of Italian life as a persona.
