Yes, I've been lambasted on more than one occasion. I almost turned to one
lady and asked, "Well, will YOU be the one to pull her out of the pool over
there when she runs away?" But I refrained. :) I have witnesses to testify
how fast my youngest could disappear. At Gulf War. Twice. In one day.
As Ivo says, it's not for direction, but for control. A child that age just
WILL NOT want to hold a hand 100% of the time.
