In the late 90's I had a lady-in-waiting (not a page). I was told that
older women with some money, even if not noble, sometimes had
ladies-in-waiting to help them with shopping, dressing, other activities.
The 11 year old daughter of a friend volunteered and I would have her help
at events if I needed it (fetch and carry, run errands, take messages, etc).
In exchange I was making her a dress, but the family moved out of Kingdom
before I finished it, though I did gift her with a necklace.

I know at the time I was first playing in the early-mid nineties, there
wasn't a kingdom wide page program. I was page to then Ld. Jean Fernald de
Sauveneigh (sp?) but it was simply an agreement between us as to what was
expected of me and what I could expect from him.
