[Ansteorra] Steppes Demo Event

I just want to follow up what Faelan is saying by talking about a few things 
with this demo...

We started out with a concept:  Why do a demo at an event that "we" aren't 
enthusiastic about attending?  Let's do a demo at an event that "we" want to 
attend.  Afterall, how can "we" find people like "us" at an event that "we" 
don't want to go to?  After many conversations, we generally decided that 
lots of us enjoy attending science fiction, fantasy, and gaming conventions. 
So the first thing we wanted to do was find a convention that looked like 
FUN, and find a group of people who wants to attend this convention.  Lazy 
Dragon Con looks to be a hoot.

So we have that group assembled, and we're going to do a demo and have a 
party room.  So far we have a group of over 20 individuals from at least 3 
different Baronies in two regions who are going to attend, fight, meet 
people, have fun, do the demo, run a party room, build relationships with 
con goers, and generally have a good old time.

So what I'm saying is, don't think of this as a demo.  Think of it as 
attending a science fiction/fantasy/game convention with some of your 
friends.  We're just going to do some SCA demos in between the other fun 
we're going to have!  With over 20 people so far, nobody will have to man a 
table for long hours of boredom.  We're going to have numerous fighting 
demos scattered over the course of the convention, and run a party room on 
Saturday night.

If you had intended to attend Westgate Winter Collegium, I would strongly 
encourage you to continue to do so.  I'd never want our demo to draw people 
away from a kingdom event.  But if you weren't, come on out to Dallas and 
let's have some fun!
