[Ansteorra] Talking in court

Personally I feel that there is only 1 reason for talking during
court...well 2...you are speaking QUIETLY during any lulls in the
action...maybe congratulating someone sitting by you who just received an
award for example...or you are explaining QUIETLY to a newcomer what is
happening. One of my best court experiences was last year at our first
Warlord. We had only been here in Ansteorra just over a year, it was our
first major event here where awards were actually being given, and Master
Robin was explaining to us, very quietly what the various awards were, and
what the equivalent award was in Caid.
While I appreciate the idea of a short 1 hour court to keep things
moving...I also have issues with keeping court that short because things get
overlooked. I do understand that there are some issues which the sitting
nobles and crown must discuss quietly, but for the most part, people really
need to make the effort to be heard by everyone sitting at court. When court
is held outside...maybe we should try to set a perimeter of how far back
people sit, so those in the rear can be heard...while inside...people need
to make a conscious effort to not sit and chat. If you are that bored, then
don't attend court...sit outside...away from what is going on and have your
conversation so you dont distract the people around you. All of this falls
under the simplest and first rule of why we are here in the first place.
Chivalric behavior.
