I can not speak for girl scouts, but i have never been fingerprinted for boy scouts or for volunteering at any of the schools my kids have been to.  Background checks, yes, but no fingerprints.

The only times I have been fingerprinted for a background check is for 1) Work.  (i work for a bank) and 2) My background check before adopting my eldest son.
