OK, I voted. May I register at least mild dissatisfaction with the
options offered? 
(No, I'm not sure what else should / might be considered as acceptable
alternatives.  I do believe that my answer for melee situations would be
different than my expectations for single-combat engagements --
wound-only for melee, wound-or-kill based on weapon type for single
combat.)

.. and is it too late to call for reconsideration of thrusters on mass
weapons?
