Not to mention the squire at RenFair (oh, these many years ago) that had his two front teeth knocked out in a freak accident during one of the melees.  We had to physically restrain him to keep him from immediately going back on the field, despite the fact that he was bleeding.  Adrenaline definitely plays a large part.
