Hallmark metals has reasonable prices:

You have to call or email for pricing. They're also on ebay. I bought
their MPK alloy from their ebay store 2 months ago. That alloy might be
a bit soft for buttons, so their 92-8 alloy could be a better choice.

The problem is that metal prices have really gone crazy lately. I bought
the 6+ pound bar of MPK back in February for $68.50 with $14 shipping. I
just checked Hallmark's ebay store, and that same bar is now $86.60 plus
shipping. A little over a year ago, pewter was about $8-10 per pound, so
it's gone up more 50-60% in about a year.
