Greetings to the Gentles of the Known World,

Here is a copy of my monthly Florilegium article for August,
detailing what is new in the Florilegium this month.

As you can see there are a number of new, interesting articles this
month. This is because folks have taken the time to email me copies
of articles, class handouts or A&S documentation they have written.
You don't have to be a Peer to write an article which other folks can
learn from. And an article doesn't have to be "perfect" for others to
learn from it. The depth of knowledge in our Society is way too deep
for anyone to be an expert in all of it.

We can best learn and improve what we do as a group and as
individuals by standing on each others shoulders and lifting each
other up. As part of this, I allow, nay, encourage folks to update
and improve an article they submitted at any time. If you see an
article or paper somewhere that you think others would like to read,
please encourage the author to send me a copy for possible inclusion
in the Florilegium.

I know many people are off at Pennsic right now and that there are
over a thousand different classes taught there. But many people, such
as myself this year, don't get a chance to attend. I encourage any
teachers who produced handouts for their Pennsic classes to consider
sending me an electronic copy when they return and read this message.

Thanks,
   Stefan

A Blending of the Past and Present

Over the past eighteen years in an ongoing effort, I have been
collecting bits of useful information from various newsgroups, mail
lists and articles submitted to me by their authors. In order to make
this information available to others, I have placed this information
in a collection of files I call Stefan's Florilegium.

The Florilegium is on the web at: http://www.florilegium.org

I am always interested in new articles. If you have written an
article that would be of interest to others in the SCA, please send
it to me for possible inclusion in the Florilegium. A&S documentation
and class handouts will also often work out well.

I am also interested in volunteers who might be interested in helping
me maintain the Florilegium. Everything from collecting materials,
editing and web work is needed. Again, please contact me for more
details.
