There is also Professional.  I belong to Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, The Men's Professional Music Fraternity of America.  There is also Sigma Alpha Iota, the International Music Fraternity for Women.

Cheers,
Alden

There are three types of 'Greek' organizations:
- Social: fraternities and sororities
- Service:  such as Alpha Phi Omega (A.P.O.)
- Honorary: for scholastic excellence usually.

Most of these organizations use a combination of greek letters for their name, but some will use a greek word, such as the social fraternity 'Acacia'.

When the term 'Greek Fraternity' is used, it generally refers to the social variety.

'Fraternities' generally are all-male organizations,
'Sororities' are generally all-female organizations;
though service 'fraternities' are often both male and female.

Social and Honorary Fraternities are generally by invitation only,
Service Fraternities are generally open to all interested persons.

Hope that helps clarify,
Cheers, Hillary
