You *cannot* invent a scenario for a lawsuit so stupid that real life won't 
outdo it.  This one isn't an invention; it really happened.

Back in the eighties, Woodfor of Lorien, an artisan / merchant, sued the 
SCA for hiding its true nature from him.  He thought not enough people were 
buying his period-style wares, and he was owed recompense because the SCA 
falsely hid the fact that many members weren't sufficiently focused on 

During the time when the SCA was (supposedly) successfully hiding its true 
nature from him, he'd been in the SCA for 18 years, and had been a Knight, 
Laurel, landed baron and a member of the Board of Directors.

P.S.  The court ruled against him, noting that he had had sufficient 
opportunity to learn what the SCA was.
