[Ansteorra] What was your favorite event?

Greetings Ansteorra,
With all the negativity going out on the lists, I thought I would try to
generate a positive thread.  Describe the event you went to which was your
favorite.
My Favorite Event was:
Lady of the Lake 1
I went to the event out of what seemed to be obligation.  As a member of the
Western Region, I felt it was necessary for me to be at a new group's first
event.  When my best friend and I got there, after getting horribly lost(my
fault, I didn't print out directions, I thought I "knew" where it was), we
were warmly greeted.  We asked about camping, and once we stated where we
were camping, we were met by a few guys who automatically put up our tent
and un loaded us.  I met many interesting new people from the Northern
Region, the tourney was exciting, and EVERYONE I met was positive and very
welcoming.

Well, rain came, tent flooded, everything is wet, and it is not bedtime
yet.  You would think that this would tarnish the event for me, but somehow
it didn't.  I left that event, the way I left my very first event, "when is
the next one", not the "what do I have to go to next".  I personally want to
thank the Shire of Amlac for hosting this, and recharging me.  I wish the
"laziness" hadn't set in because your event was worth the 6 hour drive, the
wet stuff, and finding a new place to sleep.  It is my favorite event of all
that I have attended.
