Greetings to all fighters of Ansteorra! Want to add a new dimension to your
fighting? Find new techniques for defeating your opponent? Feel the month
of June is a bit slow for getting out and hitting people?

Then find your way to King’s College 2008, June 14th, in Sanger, TX.
Details on the event, including the class list and schedule, can be found at
HYPERLINK
"http://steppes.ansteorra.org/kc/"http://steppes.ansteorra.org/kc/. There
are plenty to do for all fighters, whether beginner, intermediate, or an old
hand looking to learn something different. There are both Historical and
SCA Combat classes being taught for both Chivalric and Rapier, so there is
something for everyone!

Historical Combat classes for Chivalric fighting include:

*	Introduction to Fiore dei Liberi’s Bastard Sword
*	Medieval Poleaxe (from various masters)

Both taught by Earl Brion Thornbird ap Rhys, founder of Schola St. George.

Historical Rapier Combat classes include:

*	Rapier Vocabulary class to help with all the terminology used in
various historical classes and manuals, by Lord Kristen Ayre
*	Introduction to Footwork for Italian Rapier by Don Christian Dore
*	Basics of Italian Rapier of Capo Ferro by myself
*	Introduction to Cut & Thrust, also by myself

Plus, there are non-historical (SCA) classes as well, including Earl Duncan
Ross’ Sword Theory and Movement, Rapier and Cloak, and Sir Giotto’s Knight
School. And if that isn’t enough, there’s Sir Morgan Buchanan’s Regional
Fighter Practice as well!

I know what you’re thinking: “are you kidding? Outdoors? In North Texas?
In JUNE???” Perhaps this will help: There will be plenty of water,
Gatorade, and Lemonade to drink (I’ll bring it myself if need be). And the
historical combat classes are part of A&S, so you need only what equipment
the teacher decides is needed. For example, for the Capo Ferro and Cut &
Thrust classes, full armor is not required, only sword and mask are (cup is
recommended for male fighters). So we can go with fewer layers to help
fight the heat.
